totoymola Posted October 24, 2004 Posted October 24, 2004 What is the easy way to install this OS without using a bootdisk? I can't use a bootdisk because my notebook has no floppy disk drive.
MadGutts Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 Your notebook should be able to boot from a cd.. Xp and 2k both support the installation from cd so there shouldn't be a problem. However, you may have to enter the bios and check the boot sequence so you can enable it t boot from the cd rom before the hard drive...
totoymola Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 Yes. I know that. Thanks anyway. But I'm just curious to isntall this without using a bootdisk and without booting from the cd.Is there another way to install this?
gamehead200 Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 You can install it via the network, but I think you still need a boot disk/CD to do so...
Asky Posted October 25, 2004 Posted October 25, 2004 you can boot off the network if your BIOS supports PXE and you have a server set up to boot from in an Active Directory domain
totoymola Posted October 25, 2004 Author Posted October 25, 2004 Ok. Thanks for the info. I'm not gonna install it on my machine actually, since I'm using XP. I just want to learn a different approach. Thanks again.
Skyfrog Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 A 124kb signature makes my modem very unhappy.
