jpatto Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 If your trying to say that you use the Uninstall Shield to uninstall a program and it doesnt let you then it may be damaged. Try this:Click Start > Run then type msiexec.exe /unregister and click OK. Click Start > Run then typemsiexec.exe /regserver and click OK. Run the installation again. This should install the Windows Installer Service.Hope this helps
MCT Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 be sure the "application management" service isnt stopped, i think this is the 1 that controls the installation/uninstallation of programs
red_house Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 I think "Windows Installer" is the service that needs to be either on automatic or started in manual.
