Du4No Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 First Post, troubles already...Could anyone pls help me?I am at a loss, when I have the Promise RAID chipset set to RAID as opposed to IDE in my motherboards BIOS, WinXP can not detect them, even after I load the drivers manually via floppy by pressing F6 during install. But if I set the Promise chipset to IDE, WinXP detects it fine without any problems.Has anyone else encountered this? Can anyone direct me to a remedy/resolution for this particular problem?Pls help.Thanks.Du4No
alenze Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 You'll have to initialize the RAID drive first - use ALT-F to enter Fasttrack utility (Promise's BIOS setup SW) during system start.
alphagamma212 Posted October 7, 2004 Posted October 7, 2004 I too have a P4P800 DX and have the same problem,I am not completely sure, but I think it is a problem with the mobo as I cannot install any version of linux (RAID or IDE) or windows xp with RAID. You may want to try to slipstream the RAID drivers onto your windows XP cd (google it)Cheers,Alph
rojanu Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 if you have initialise your raid array using CTRL+F and loadinf drivers via floppy slipsreaming drivers does not make any sense.the only thing that I can think is that your moob has a faulty raid controller
buletov Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 Du4No, did you create a raid array in Fasttrack bios utility as alenze mentioned?
