Mike_Wilson
Not sure about this but I suppose you can record the updated dll versions and dates from inside the archive and then when you have installed xp with the slipstreamed files search for them and check if they are the updated versions. I suppose this is one way to check if there the updated files or not.

neophyte
You will need the prepatched DLL's expanded to a temporary location, and the postpatched DLL's expanded to a different location.Right click them, and check their version numbers/date modified fields. prathapml
Well, the link above that you posted for download.... After downloading the update from there:1. open a CMD prompt and run the "WindowsXP-KB885523-x86-enu.exe" file with "/x" switch.2. It will ask you where to save the extracted files.3. Once it is extracted, go to that folder, and see the version of "\sp2gdr\acgenral.dll"4. Similarly, in the XPSP2 CD, acgenral.dl_ is a CABbed file, extract it and see its version.Once the integrating is finished, once again see the version of the file in I386:It was "5.1.2600.2180"now it should be "5.1.2600.2523"Hoping this helps....
