Dark Sim 905
I was curious; if I took this dll from XP Home and used it on an XP Pro Unattended install, would it still work / cause problems? The reason is, I seem to be unable to get WINNTBBU.DL_ to work properly; ie, ResHack the DLL after Extracting it... Alanoll
it should work fine....I believe they're the exact same file, but I could be wrong.
prathapml
It will work fine, without any errors - but it will be funny - because the text shown (in the bill-board screens during setup) will be the ones for home edition than Pro.
buletov
@Dark Sim 905: you're obivously using pirated windows. the microsoft wrath shall come upon you soon! @prathapml: are you positive about that (text)?
prathapml
are you positive about that (text)? You did notice the:"Windows XP home edition is good for your games..... blah-blah"'Windows XP Professional is the best choice for your business..... blah-blah"(just an example of what text is varying from one to the other - there's more screens that vary as well). Dark Sim 905
Well I'm able to remove that text, or change it as I see fit right?@buletov: I never knew an OS that came on an OEM machine preinstalled was piracy.
prathapml
Well I'm able to remove that text, or change it as I see fit right?Yes of course, if you are going to change all the text - home or pro (winntbbu.dll) makes no difference. Dark Sim 905
Awesome, thanks for the reply.Hopefully I can conjure up some interesting screen to use as a background as opposed to taking somebody else's ideas or images...There was one I loved except for the fact that ya'll use SP2 slip-streamed...I have yet to actually try SP2 final... Tsunami
Yes, it will. That file only contains the messages, it doesn't tell the setup which ones to use.
