I was curious; if I took this dll from XP Home and used it on an XP Pro Unattended install, would it still work / cause problems?

The reason is, I seem to be unable to get WINNTBBU.DL_ to work properly; ie, ResHack the DLL after Extracting it...

It will work fine, without any errors - but it will be funny - because the text shown (in the bill-board screens during setup) will be the ones for home edition than Pro.

are you positive about that (text)?

You did notice the:

"Windows XP home edition is good for your games..... blah-blah"

'Windows XP Professional is the best choice for your business..... blah-blah"

(just an example of what text is varying from one to the other - there's more screens that vary as well).

Well I'm able to remove that text, or change it as I see fit right?

Yes of course, if you are going to change all the text - home or pro (winntbbu.dll) makes no difference.

Awesome, thanks for the reply.

Hopefully I can conjure up some interesting screen to use as a background as opposed to taking somebody else's ideas or images...

There was one I loved except for the fact that ya'll use SP2 slip-streamed...

I have yet to actually try SP2 final...

i know that but i though that winntbbu.dll is the same on the both home and pro

so if on home it shows home messages, you take it an place it on the pro cd, it will show pro messages without any modification...

or...?
