you need to find what works best for your requirements

maybe there is a media player /jet audio clash going on conflict

or maybe one good pack could solve

you need to trial these things to find the result if impossible now then format and start new from scratch

i have in my list nimo pack or

divx 5

SLDcodecpack1.5

SVCD_Mpeg2_Codec_for_Media_Player

wm9codecs

hope this helps good luck

So far I have used Coda V33 codec pack and you don't need any additional codec pack. Coda is everything you need...

But windows Media player 10 has started to crash, not very often, only when I'm watching divx...

Then I downloaded Total Pack 1.8 and now my WMP is working properly..

No codec pack has "all you need", nor has only what you need. ALL of them have extras and miss others. I install a customized k-lite codec pack (the best around imho) and then add the others I want (another couple dozen easily) Also, not all are maintained as well nor as often. K-lite is pretty good for that, although for many codecs like ffdshow, xvid and such, you might as well deselect it and silently install the latest build separately (I use a special version of xvid too). Most have an old ac3 filter version as well... Most of codec packs out there can cause system problems just like you're having right now.
