Tel
I've changed the Task Scheduler service to log on as a different user, and now it gives an error message when I try to start it.Error 1079:The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for the services running in the same process.Rather than logging on as the standard Local System logon, I want the service to start up using the Administrator logon name and password. So I went and changed it correctly, but when trying to restart the service that error message pops up.I am really hoping somebody knows something here. I've been searching for hours on the net, but to no avail.EDIT: Added the error message screenshot
jaclaz
It' just a guess, but since Task scheduler depends on RPC, you might need to start RPC with the other credentials, and probably doing this will give you other errors in the other services that depend on RPC.Another possibility as Task scheduler runs through svchost.exe, other instances with different credentials give the error.See here for service config:http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htmThese can help?http://blogs.msdn.com/aaron_margosis/archive/2004/06/23.aspxhttp://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techi...nt/seclogon.asphttp://support.microsoft.com/?id=285879I do not know if it could work, but you can give a try to these programs:http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/proc...processutil.htmhttp://www.stefan-kuhr.de/supsu/main.php3first one to see what's hapening, secomd one to try another method.jaclaz
ChunkDog
Are you running XP Home or PRO. XP Home's Admin account is always disabled in Normal Mode. Hope that helps.
