Recommended Posts

HI! two questions:

1) Is there a way to save my Nvidia settings (Antialliasing, VSync, etc.) into a reg file?

2) How can I get rid if "Nvidia analog display" in desktop context menu?

thanks :hello:

Here's how to remove the "Analog Display" menu from the right-click:

it is for removing the nvidia analog (digital/analog) Display from right click menu of desktop

yes it bothered me I happen to click it accidentally  and frankly I don't use it..

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\NvCplDesktopContext]
@="{A70C977A-BF00-412C-90B7-034C51DA2439}"

Also saw this:
For anyone who wants to get rid of the **** Analog Display context menu on the desktop just delete this registy key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\NvCplDesktopContext

export your settings from regedit does the trick...

ow btw there is only 1 that's been posted, those 2 are the same, only a line break has been placed after "con"

if u remove the

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\NvCplDesktopContext]

u'll be fine. the value inside it doesn't really matter since there is only 1 value..

But what do I export? the whole registry? I searched for nvidia keys in registry but I dont see the values that controls "vsync", "amtialliasing", etc.

Please tell me what you do or what what you mean exactly ;)

thanks

no u can just export 1 key at a time if u want

here nvidia stuff are probably under these keys (probably current user is a better guess)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\NVIDIA Corporation

also u can export your profiles to disk

After testing, I think this is not the solution. I've used Regshot and that's what I get after leaving default settings and then applying my preferences:

So, I'm pretty sure that in that keys could be the solution.

Still testing... ;)

OH sorry XtremeMaC. I have reached to the conclusion that this key controls all settings related to Nvidia, so exporting this key would do the job.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Video\{366B34EB-DE30-4397-ADC0-D46E3B772CA5}]

I'll try your idea anyway ;) Thanks

TESTED :thumbup

FINAL SOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE:

Export this key and apply it in your unattended install or after a clean install (or whenever you want :P )

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Video\{366B34EB-DE30-4397-ADC0-D46E3B772CA5}\0000]
