Office 2003

Featured Replies

Hi,

Maybe a stupid question but i searched the forum and cannot find a solution.

I've installed office 2003 with a transform = etc etc

SP1 is slipstreamed, but when I want to update by web. Then I get this message;

NOTE: Detection shows that Office products on your computer have been updated by your Office product administrator from the administrative installation point on a server. This means that you should not update Office products yourself. If you are an Office product administrator, please visit the Office Resource Kit for more information.

Hope that someone can help me out.

Greetings

Your Office was installed from an admin install point. The error message just reminds you of that fact. If you need to download and install an Office patch, go to the Office Resource Kit, as referenced in the error message. You can use that fullfile version to update the admin install point.

unless you are supporting a network, don't do admin install points... It prevents the easy install of patches, esp. if you use LocalInstallSource.

Just make a MSO2k3 CD with all the patches wrapped in silent installer packages. and a bat file that installs them.
