eXtremeLaz
Those of you who already have this game recognize the game is very slow even on high end PCs.There is a very easy solution to fix this problem.Go into your Doom 3 directory (where you installed the game) go into the folder "base" you will see a bunch of ".PK4" files. Use Winrar to extract every one of these files directly into the same folder "base". Do not let Winrar put them into their own separate folder. The files must go directly into the base folder, and overwrite any duplicate files it asks about.Normally those files are decompressed during the game, but even high end CPUs are not able to decompress those files while running the game with good performance and therefore the game runs bad. Now you MUST DELETE ALL .PK4 files in the 'base" folder to prevent the game to use those compressed files again. Now the game loads and runs much faster! Also, if your PC has at least 512mb of memory try this:In the same "base" folder, find "DoomConfig.cfg". Open DoomConfig.cfg in Notepad.Find the line:seta image_cacheMegs Switch this from "32" or whatever it is set at to "256".Load the game and play!
