rustycaps Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Or you can save any hassle at all and just keep the favo(u)rites folder on a separate partition and use the following registry inputs to configure it.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders]"Favorites"="F:\\Favorites"[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders]"Favorites"=hex(2):46,00,3a,00,5c,00,46,00,61,00,76,00,6f,00,72,00,69,00,74,00,\ 65,00,73,00,00,00This would have to be changed accordingly to how you use it, if at all, though I should really at least un-Americanise it by changing it to Favourites or something else if I get around to it.Speaking of which (off topic), is there a way to change the word/menu heading of Favorites to read Favourites or Links or something? i.e. edit explorer/iexplore or not worth the bother?
nolookingca Posted September 23, 2004 Posted September 23, 2004 of course its worth it! Everything in the anti-M$ movement is good P.S. Didn't they say only Canadians use the "our" spelling nowdays?P.P.S. Also, if I copy the favourites to %SystemDrive%\Documents and settings\User\favorites, will it still work if I create the user profile later?
KoppieKoffie Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Daimao,Just to answer your question: You have to fill in the folder name before the link and not in front of the link name.In your case just the other way around :-)Grz.
