Help with MSI Files and serial numbers

When i do a silent install of and MSI file using the /qn switch, how do i supply a serial number? So that when i run it i dont have to type it in then.

it depends on the program. If you find an MSI editor, find the property that the serial number gets used in. sometimes it's SERIALNUMBER and you can call NAME.MSI SERIALNUMBER=XXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX and it will work. Most of the times it won't.

If it uses a registry entry, you could actually edit the MSI file to have it right the registry entry with your serial number already in it.
