the whole number is a hash of your serial number, you can see it by right clicking on my computer and selecting properties.

thanks but that didn't answer my question.

A friend of mine LOL .... installed a copy of windows XP from a oem cd... and wants to know if SP1 will work or not on his computer, and he's copy IS activated, it was done over the net... would this mess up Xp if he downloaded and installed it ?

If the OEM install is REAL - then it will not cause a problem. Do a bit of reading in other threads regarding what SP1 is messing up (leaked keys) and what will be OK
