Alanoll
I'd like to remind people this forum is also for discussion What is up with people's fascination to replace system files?Main files of interest, ntoskrnl.exe and logonui.exewhy replace them? why not use a renamed file and then change the paths to the new files?ntoskrnl.exe you can change by using /kernel in boot.ini and logonui.exe you can tell Windows to use a different one simply by adding a registry key.so why do you do it?the main problem with the kernels as of late, is simply people download one from themexp.org and expact it to work, and don't realize that different version conflicts are bound to happen. evilvoice
the reason I do, or would, would be size...I have undone my ntoskrnl and never did get into logonui, but the reason I replaced system files was to not have 1mb added (I dunno the exact size after expanding)...I know, it seems silly, but that was always the reason I did it.
