Hi, I hope some one can help me here? I have already slipstreamed xp on a dell oem version cd, and now i would like to add my own programs. when i look at the cd image there is already an oem folder for the dell stuff. So my question is can i add to that folder with my programs. My system is a inspiron xps 3.4 extreme 1 gig memory. and the oem cd has programs for my hardware. Another question for anyone whom might know the harddrive has three partions two of them are hidden, dell says not to delete them and i would like to know more on what they are for? thanks for any help. The hidden partitions are your system restore files. So on your CD are there the drivers for your hardware? And are you sure Dell doesn't have a function call to a batch file or anything on the disc? Use a program like VPC or VMware to see what actually installs from that disc. Sorry not to much of a help but I am kinda short on info from you. and is I remember corectly the smaller partition (of the 2 hidden) is some info for system, and the larger should be a drive image of some sort. I believe the smaller hidden volume can be mounted with certain disk editing programs, so you may be able to look more indepth.

I know someone else uses a Dell here so what are your inputs?

As for the warranty if you want to delete the partitions go ahead, they can send you recovery discs if they have to.

Thanks for the help you are right about the partions the first is a utillity for diagnostics and the partion at the end of the disk is a ghost image of the system. well i already deleted that one it took up three gigs i can think of a better way to use three gigs. well there is 2 batch files on the disk, and when i open one it says (OEMLINK.BAT)

@echo off

if not exist %windir%\..\DELL\sol_cent.jpg copy .\sol_cent.jpg %windir%\..\DELL

if not exist %windir%\..\DELL\dellsupport.ico copy .\dellsupport.ico %windir%\..\DELL

the next is (PCHEALTH.BAT)
