gabriel_buc Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 When I install a certain program I get the following error: "An I/O error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by a bad installation media or a corrupt installation file". The install hangs at a certain file. The only options for that error are Abort or Retry. Is there a posibility to "EDIT" the installer and make it skip that file ???I know 100% that the program works perfect without that file too.
mazin Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 It depends on the installer type. SFX and MSI are editable.
gabriel_buc Posted August 20, 2004 Author Posted August 20, 2004 Errrr....and how can I find what type of install it is. I mean with what product it was packed ??? Defenitly is not a SFX nor a MSI. It's an exe installer. That's all I can say about that file.
Synapse Posted August 20, 2004 Posted August 20, 2004 had a program that did this about 6 months ago... can't remeber the name of it though but the installer was installing "readme.txt" when it was locking up.. i almost wanted too cry... but found that prog edited the readme.txt and it worked.. so i deleted the edit installer program... i might have it on a back up cd... i'll check them..
gabriel_buc Posted August 21, 2004 Author Posted August 21, 2004 I would be very grateful if you could just tell me the name
