Hi there!

There are a few tweaks I'd like to be able to do using the registry, so they can be put into an unattended install...

hm..

I'll just list them.

Please help if you can...

1 - Status bar for all folders (saw this in another post but couldn't make out what to change.. tried a few of the keys and none changed anything)

2 - Disable hiding of protected system files so that all files in system folders are visible

3 - Disable "show in groups" for all folders (**** I hate those group thingies)

4 - Small icons with little or no text on the explorer and iexplore toolbars (not really needed, but thought I'd ask while I was at it anyway)

I tried that but there is always about 72 changes done to registry by programs that I don't know so I'm a bit confused... Unchecking the box in Screen Saver to disable the return to user menu is surely not changing 72 registry keys...

I narrowed the possibilities to those 6 but are they all necessary to disable that anoying check box?

Reading registry keys for me is like learning chineese with an arabic dictionnary for a 92 years old Dutch..

I also tried to redirect the My Documents and all it's folders to another location

those are the line I thought where useful

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Personal: "D:\Mes documents"

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\My Pictures: "D:\Mes documents\Mes images"

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\My Music: "D:\Mes documents\Ma musique"

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\New\My Video: "D:\Mes documents"

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-484763869-2147186959-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CopyMoveTo\LastFolder: 2F 00 14 00 1F 50 E0 4F D0 20 EA 3A 69 10 A2 D8 08 00 2B 30 30 9D 19 00 2F 44 3A 5C 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Again, there was so many other lines speaking of ShellNoRoam and BagsMRU and stuff like that, it that usefull too to redirect a folder or just the result of windows transfering the initial files to the new folder? Also, to do that, maybe not everyone stores his my documents in D:\my documents so is there a way to add a variable where the user could enter the path where he wants the My Documents folder to go? Thanks a lot.

can you please post the registry tweak for the status bars on all windows please?

as well as the other ones when you figure them out.

I've just stepped into this world of unattended installations, and I like what the community has come up with so far.

Keep up the good work :D

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\ShowSuperHidden is the key you're looking for..

This works for me. I install my reg file via the cmdlines.txt file in the $OEM$ folder of my xp source.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

"StatusBarOther"=dword:00000001

"StatusBarWeb"=dword:00000001
