Notepad

Im trying to change my notepad with notepad2, it works with x:\windows\system32

but the notepad-file in x:\windows\ changes back to the orginal notepad 2 secs after i have copied notepad2 in there..

Anyone having a solution for my problem?

Hi

you can't do that because of SFC

you have to put your notepad2.exe in the dllcache folder as notepad.exe

first

and then you put it in the windows and system32 folder

1 in windows/system32/dllcache

2 in windows/system32

3 in windows

ignore the question about the windows cdrom

serach for notepad.exe you'll find it 3 times (maybe 4 if you have sp1 not slipstreamed ( in a i386 folder) but i don't remember where it is

they also have several other ways of "installing" a notepad replacement.

but you could always use the good ol' Replacer to replace the three files.
