kobayashi Posted August 11, 2004 Share Posted August 11, 2004 Hi,I need to install 30 pcs in XP and i want to use to ghost one station and deploy it on the others but:-if i do that, all the pcs'll have the same XP SN and it'll a problem when they'll connect on windowsupdate ? what do u think ? -is there an other solution ?I want to force users to have the same display "appearance" (windows classic style), how can i do that ?How can i change the logo the system properties/general ?How can i can deploy printers on first time logon only ? thanx all for your advice. sintaxasn Posted August 11, 2004 Share Posted August 11, 2004 hey,In our environment, we have a Volume License edition of XP which has the same key for all workstations. There's no problems with Windows Update then. There's definately utilities out there that will change the CD after install. Do a search on google.If you're using a ghost image and don't need to do this through an unattended install, the easiest way is probably changing the group policy settings.Start > Run > GPEdit.MSC. It'll be in here under administrative templates somewhere.To change the OEM logo, put a small bitmap into C:\Windows\System32 and call it OEMLOGO.BMPAnd sorry I can't help on the printers question!Dan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
