Hey guys, I'm new here and finally getting around to getting my unattended setup working. Due to using a different program I got nothing but errors for many many attempts but now that it appears to be working all good, I notice there is one thing i'm missing and can't seem to find it by searching the forum. I could be just tired and clueless and missed it though :)

After you complete your install you get the welcome to windows screen with the next button to check your internet connection and continue on. Is there a way to disable that so it just boots straight to your desktop?

I have sp2 slipstreamed into my cd and i have the new automaticupdates="Yes" set so that it should enable on boot and not bother me but I want to get rid of that register screen.

Also the check that comes up to prompt you to adjust your screen and res settings automatically on your first boot, is there a key or command to disable that?

Thanks for any help you can offer, this site kicks a**.

hi

under

[GuiUnattended] (in winnt.sif) add

OemSkipWelcome=1

as for registering your windows.. there is a tweak u can apply i think that makes windows think u have .. search the forum (i think u have 2 manually register on your own at a later date, this just stops the popup)

EDIT: felix posted the tweak above

also in your winnt.sif u can set a desired screen resolution so it doesnt ask u for that.. im sure tho u could disable it with a .reg tweak

:)

& welcome to msfn

Welp with the added tweaks above, It did not seem to remove the options I wanted removed.

After the installation and it boots up for the first time, I wanted to remove the option that adjusts your screen res and visual settings as it is already specific in the winnt.sif. It's not a big deal, you click ok and then cancel.

The other issue is still there, when you start up you come to the welcome to windows screen where it checks your internet connection, wants you to register and enable automatic updates.

I have

AutomaticUpdates=Yes under [Data] but i'm still asked on boot.

The regdone tweak as well doesn't seem to work as I'm still asked to register, yes or no in the same welcome to windows screen.

Basically I want to skip the entire welcome to windows screen.

Got a few more tweaks left to do such as enable remote desktop, unlock start menu, style on the buttons in windows and IE, enable the status bar and the position of my start menu.

Thanks again.
