Ok... for some reason about half way through the day I started noticing that when I minimized any window that it would like shrink into the taskbar. I don't know how I enabled this, but it's very annoying!

Does anyone know of a way to disable this? Please, it is driving me insane :)

maybe i'm reading this incorrectly. but this may help...

Right click my computer -> Properties -> advanced tab -> Performance Settings button -> uncheck the very top check box in the list, labeled "animate windows when minimizing and maximizing"

now when you hit the minimize button it should instantly go into your taskbar.

yes thats how it is turned off...

Well i always disable that on my PC

(and disable everything in Performance Settings button except for smooth fonts and show window contents while dragging)

well every so often the window min/max animation turns its self back on!

it really annoys me that it turns its self back on all the time,

happens on a number of computers i have noticed...

Thanks guys! It turns out that the button was unchecked but I had some conflicting settings that Windows didn't like, so the setting turned it's self on. Oh well... It's fixed now, and thanks again!
