sven Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 iv noticed that some topics that i saw a few months ago seem to get erased, is this just me, if not, after how long does a topic get removed
XtremeMaC Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 they don't get erased they are just hidden from the list there is a limit on the invision power boards which the admin can set.its usefull for bandwidth I suppose.. but if u search for a topic it'll come up....
prathapml Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 but if u search for a topic it'll come up....Especially when you remember to "Search posts from..." = "Any date".
sven Posted August 5, 2004 Author Posted August 5, 2004 ok, so its just invition board who hides them. thanks for the info
Aaron Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 Topics don't get hidden/deleted on MSFN. If you can't find a topic, it was probably moved to the trash can away from public view due to recent flaming, warez or idiocy.
XtremeMaC Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 well the board has a built-in function that's "Default date cut off for topic display"go to admin centergo to forum control go to manage forumsgo to settings of any forum look for"Default date cut off for topic display"well in other words every forum has its cut-off date. which u can alter.look at the bottom of the page and findshowing * of * topics sorted by * in * from * [go]after the "from" change the drop list to "the beginning" and u'll see all the previous topicsthis is what I meant..
newdles Posted August 6, 2004 Posted August 6, 2004 That's just more work on the database than necessary too.
