How do I integrate XP Serial #?

Featured Replies

Hello again,

I can build my CD's just great now.... only missing two critical updates (VM And Dx9 patch).

One thing I'd like do still however..... Integrate the serial number into my XP Pro CD. (my serial# is part of a MS-Select license, so I can be used over and over again.).

My goal is to help the IS staff at branch locations..... some have a hard time reading, and typing, the 25 character serial correctly.

Any suggestions?

thanks!

ever heard from winnt.sif? for more information look here

http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/winnt_sif.htm

run deploy.cab and fill in the key and other things what you want fill in for other people. after this is done rename unattend.sif to winnt.sif and place the winnt.sif in filescd\i386 from xpcreate. create a cd or iso again and you are done.

I prefer n-Lite to the setup manager included on the CD. You can download it here:

n-Lite

It creates a winnt.sif file that you can put in your i386 folder. Then, when you burn the CD, you have a bootable setup for Windows XP.
