SB ZS Software Hijacks Apps.

I know a lot of folks have an Audigy card installed, I do. I made the mistake of installing the Creative software that came with the ZS. I figured it would just be the equalizer, volume control, etc., like the old Soundblaster. My problem is the Creative software took over applications used in Nero 6 Ultra, Windows Media Player, and Power DVD. I can only use these apps now if I force them to function beforehand.

The Creative Media Source is my biggest headache, and I can't find the configuration settings for this software. All that's listed in the Creative menu is: "Creative Restore Defaults," whatever that does!

How can I get to the Creative's configuration screen so I can change things? (disable Creative media player for video)

Never mind. I nuked all the associated files in the settings tab in Media Source. Now I'm prompted by XP on which application I'd like to use. Media Source thought it was the only app. on my computer. Kinda like a virus!

if your problem are the associations you can:

-press shift while right clicking a file that show a hidden option (open file with...) then select the program which you want to open and tick "always use ..."

or

-in folder options>archive types, modify them like you want to do.

finally i have to say that i've got an A2 (Bulk) and i use the ZS programs and software (including media source) and i've never had problems, althought i do not use them offen, THX, EAX, DTS consoles and speaker configuration it's a must have.
