TheCrowX Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 hi i m newbie to unattended windows in my first try when i finished installing windows on virtual pc and on the first lunch of windows i got a a window with a countdown of 1 min and windows rebooted then it was okso what could be the problem ??
prathapml Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 LOL......This incident proves that you have to understand what you are doing.I guess you just blindly copy/pasted all the commands found on the unattended guide. If you see in your main.cmd, you might have a line which starts with shutdown -r -f -t 60 -c "blah-blah blah" If you don't want that re-start, you have to remove this line.
jrzycrim Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 You probably used a cleanup.cmd file that you found here in which one of the commands is shutdown.exe -r -f -t 60 -c or something similar. It's supposed to do that.
TheCrowX Posted July 24, 2004 Author Posted July 24, 2004 thanx for the answer I thgough that this command was for the installation reboot
prathapml Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 well, that command *IS* for the installation reboot. I hope you didn't think that your OS installation could possibly reboot without <GASP> windows itself re-booting.
raskren Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Or you slipstreamed MsBlast or Sasser worms onto your CD. Search through your install files for the word "shutdown" and remove it if you'd like. You can also go to the command prompt and type "shutdown /?" to figure out the switches.
Bâshrat the Sneaky Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Or you slipstreamed MsBlast or Sasser worms onto your CD. LOL I'd never think of that....
prathapml Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Or you slipstreamed MsBlast or Sasser worms onto your CD. As a matter of fact, I'd like to know if it is possible to manually 'catch' and 'release' such worms intentionally on a system. If so, how? Please see this thread, if you have an answer. From where can I get (and keep for later manual use) such worms, ( and how to 'slip-stream' them onto my CD, ROTFLOL).
prathapml Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 There's some humour going on here (in first post by topic starter) - did someone notice the word in emphasis?hi i m newbie to.....<snip>........ and on the first lunch of windows.....Well, I concur with his typo, alright!Windows does seem to go out to 'lunch' pretty often
