Souka Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 I'm sure the answer to my question has been asked before, but I sure can't find it.I get the following error during the process.....---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14:38:06 -- Create an ISO image --------------------------------------------------------------------------------The system cannot find the file specified. In the XPCREATE.ini file the following settings are:BOOTIMGFILE=C:\temp\XP Create\XPiso.isoCDBURNER=E:XPISO=XPCREATE.ISOXPSOURCE=D:Drive E: has blank CDDrive D: has my current XP bootable CD
Aaron Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 I don't personally use XPCREATE but I know for sure Windows has difficulty finding files/folders when they have spaces in them. So try to close them off with quotes:BOOTIMGFILE="C:\temp\XP Create\XPiso.iso"
BaTLeZone Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 @aaronu are right xpcreate don't like spaces@soukatake the space out of ur dir name and change it in the xpcreate.ini file and it should run though with no prob.i did this error my self after the correction everything was fine.
Souka Posted July 22, 2004 Author Posted July 22, 2004 Ohhh Jeez...... I had to enable 8.3 support....can't believe I didn't notice the space in the dir name....Changing name and settings....will redo and post results.TIA!
Souka Posted July 22, 2004 Author Posted July 22, 2004 Failed. reworked ini file.....but not sure of some of the values.[XPCREATE]BOOTIMGFILE=C:\temp\XPCreate\XPiso.iso (this is an ISO of an XP CD I have....but I"m not confident of what it should be.XPISO=c:\temp\XPCreate\XPCREATE.ISO (Hope to create this ISO using XPCreate)XPSOURCE=C:\temp\XP-CD (This is the entire XP CD copied to my local HD)The BOOTIMGFILE is my biggest concern......... but then again, I"m still getting the ISO failed message.Suggestions?
Souka Posted July 22, 2004 Author Posted July 22, 2004 OK.... I can do everything but BOOT from my CD.So.... how do I create/get the BOOTIMGFILE (XPCTBOOT.BIN)??????
Virindi Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Look here, and scroll down to Creating a Bootable CD. After extracting the boot image file, rename it to XPCTBOOT.BIN and put it in the appropriate folder.-J
GreenMachine Posted August 3, 2004 Posted August 3, 2004 I thought I had straightened out the long file names problems. I will double check for the next release. I guess the BootImage File question has since been resolved.
