July 19, 200422 yr Here's a list of Removed for the dutch XP Pro version using XPCreateLink Removed by Alanoll; Glowy, you violated the EULA. Not distributing XPCREATE or it's files.
July 21, 200422 yr Hi,I've downloaded XPCreate, used it on my SP1a pre-slipstreamed WinXP English. After integrating all hotfixes downloaded by XPCreate and used it to install under VMWare, I saw a couple of critical updates (around 7 i think) that weren't downloaded (or applied) as well as 2 recommended updates (one is MSN 4.7).Does anyone here have a similar scenario?
July 21, 200422 yr anyway, just got back home, here's the list of the updates that are lacking on my winxp installation (installed using the xpcreated winxpsp1)Critical updates:-Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 SP1 (KB823353)-Critical Update for ADODB.stream (KB870669)-Security Update for Windows XP (KB840315)-Update for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773)-Security Update for Windows XP (KB841873)-Security Update for Windows XP (KB839645)Recommended updates:-Recommended Update for Windows XP SP1 (817778)-Windows Messenger 4.7
July 21, 200422 yr I had exactly the same senario Used Win XP VLK SP1 as a source and downloaded all the hotfixes.Tested on VMWare and show those updated were available
July 21, 200422 yr thoughs are the new updates for xp that came out this mouth. GM has not done anything with them yet something to do with a vacation the Windows Messenger 4.7 i usually ignor for i don't install it.KB823353 -> SCV-POSKB870669 -> SVC-HF2KB840315 -> SVC-HF1KB842773 -> SVC-HF1KB841873 -> SVC-HF1KB839645 -> SVC-HF1KB817778 -> SVC-HF1i have not test this yet but it worked for my 2000 cd. i'll get back to u by the weekend with my test results. i the mean time try it your self and let me know if it worked for u.
July 22, 200422 yr anyways, checking at the files that were downloaded, i saw MSN Messenger's setup.exe was downloaded but i wonder why hasnt it been applied or at least removed from the windowsupdate list i needed to update.
July 22, 200422 yr seems i was able to find a workaround... hopefully...after downloading all the updates...what i did then was to edit the xpcreate.ini's settings:from:DLURL=http://xpcreate.wiretapped.us/HFLISTSto:DLURL=then, copied all the necessary updated hotfixes at their respective folders:these files will belong at the SVC-HF1 folder:WindowsXP-KB842773-x86-enu.exeWindowsXP-KB841873-x86-enu.exeWindowsXP-KB840315-x86-enu.exeWindowsXP-KB839645-x86-enu.exethis file will be placed at the SVC-HF2 folder:Windows-KB870669-x86-ENU.exethis file will be placed at the SVC-POS folder (replacing the old OE6.0sp1-KB837009-x86-ENU.exe file):IE6.0sp1-KB823353-x86-ENU.exethen, after i recompiled the CD using XPCreate, all these updates were installed.please see attached file for a snapshot of the result on my windows update.
July 24, 200422 yr great thanks for the added info:this file will be placed at the SVC-POS folder (replacing the old OE6.0sp1-KB837009-x86-ENU.exe file):IE6.0sp1-KB823353-x86-ENU.exei'll give it a try latter. (i've been installing with both of them there)as for msn mess i have been using 6.1 not 4.7 that why i ignor it. xpcreate use to install the 6.1 for me instead of the 4.7 just by replacing it but it don't work that way now so i just install it from runonce instead.
August 3, 200422 yr I know, I know ... The lists are out of date, and I'm on the road, away from my lab. Just toooo much trouble to test and download from a laptop with a mobile phone for a connection. Soon ...Thanks to those of you that do try to help out the others. For now, just add the missing updates to the correct directories, and all should be OK.
