MAKEIE Error

Here is the file

To create an IE.EXE package:

1. Run GETIE.CMD. Accept EULA, and download IE for Windows 2K/XP ONLY to SOURCE directory.

2. Run MAKESFX.CMD.

3. Find IE.EXE in the root directory. (Where this file resides.)

This is not a silent install package.

To install silently, call with the standard Type II hotfix switches: /Q:A /R:N.

If this is used in conjunction with XPCREATE, place both the IE6.EXE file, and the IE6GO.EXE file in the SVC-PRE directory.

The IE6GO.EXE file is called just after IE6.EXE, and will launch the RunOnceEx process.

The url is http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/XPCREATE/download.htm

thanks

Oh ... that file ... True, there seems to be a logic error, however, if you get there, it is because you did not download the files for IE6 into the SOURCE directory. Do this first, and all should be fine.

Additionally, this MAKEIE was intended for XPCREATE and Windows 2000, and is now incorporated into XPCREATE: in other words, if you are using XPCREATE on a Windows 2000 install CD, you need not include this step or file.

I am using XP amd Xpcreate. I hate to be a prude but the following is not unstandable:

Are there some file missing from the xpcreate.zip file?

thanks

He is saying that the current version of XPCreate handles the IE6 update automatically, and you do not need to use MAKEIE anymore.

You do have the latest XPCREATE right? Maybe it's just me, but the one that does the incorporation of it, is distributed as XPCREATE.EXE no .ZIP
