4074 video card problem

i cant get my video card to get up to gamming level, i installed many diffrent types of the driver and still cant get it running good. i have a radeon 9700 pro, xp2200/1.64ghz and 256 ddr ram

yes longhorn 4074, i also have DirectX9 installed.

At the moment, the easiest way to get True Color instead of 16 is to disable (NOT remove) the videocard in Device Manager.

After that, the fail safe driver will be used.

driver support is not too much included in longhorn yet, i think.

no nvidia drivers is able to install under lonhorn, even with compabillity mode XP set. I play a Quake 3 mod, wich on Custom XP is locked @ 125 FPS, in Longhorn i got 60 FPS.

Actually, longhorn has drivers for only the more commonly available hardware - and you can't use XP drivers for unsupported hardware with very much success.

I've tested longhorn on a GeForce4-MX440, and drivers were already present for it! Also, you would easily be able to run it on Intel's integrated graphics MoBos (i810/i845) - but not the i865G chipset, I hear.
