ADprep

Hello,

We currently have 2 servers installed running win2k (sp3). I recently purchased a new beefy computer to which i would like to add to the current domain. I also purchased win2k3, then later found out that you cannot simply add it to 2k domains, until you run the adprep utility. Basically i am wondering if i can do this during the day, or is it a weekend job? Is it a simple utility to run? Should i back up specific files, incase of problems? How long approximately does it take? Do i have to run the adprep/forestprep first and then run the adprep/domainprep on both machines? Any other information would be greatly appreciated. do you need it to be a DC ?

otherwise you don't need to do all that

if you DO want to upgrade your forrest to w2k3 there are excelent guides at M$
