Best Graphics Format for Website?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the replies.

I actually started redesigning my site using png images instead of jpeg after accidentally discovering that the file size was smaller and the quality wasn't affected.

After reading the article "gradient effect" I will continue to use this format. Also I didn't realise it was a new format, i thought it had been around as long as JPEG and that.

Thanks again

You may want to be careful with PNG. As the file gets more complex, PNG seems to bloat it to ridiculous sizes.

It's not hard to test which type is better. Simply save your graphics using JPEG, GIF and PNG. See which is smaller and looks best.
