Install RecordNow 7 unattended HOW ?

If i try to run the install silently it says invalid key. How can i run this install silently? Any help would be greatly appritiated. Brian

Are you sure the key is good?

Do you know exctly what kind of instalation program it uses

(eg. MSI,NSIS)?

YEs the key is good i managed to change the msi package to get it to install and run but when i uninstall it it takes it out of the add remove programs after asking for the cd for that feature, but it does not remove the program from the hard drive. I can still click the icon on the desktop to remove it. I attached the original msi and i will attach the edited msi file

I've been attempting all possible tricks with this **** MSI. Well! I've got two solutions, though. Try it and let me know wether it works for you.

First: Modified RNENU.msi Installation.

Files required: (all from the root of the CD)

- RNENU.msi (modified - serial number inserted)

- Disk1.CAB (60.3 mb)

- pconfig.dcf (1.63 kb)

- px.ini

Batch String:

start /wait %systemdrive%\Install\RNDX7\RNENU.msi /QR Reboot=S

Second: Setup.exe Installation.

Files required: (all from the root of the CD)

- RNENU.msi (original)

- Disk1.CAB (60.3 mb)

- pconfig.dcf (1.63 kb)

- px.ini

- Setup.exe

- Setup.ini (serial inserted)

Open Setup.ini and insert your serial here:

[ProductFeatures]

SoleFeature

ProductID=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx

Batch String:

start /wait %systemdrive%\Install\RNDX7\Setup.exe /QR

Both solutions need a machine clean of previous installation of RecordNow!.

Should you ever have problems upon uninstallation, this is because a certain directory could be missing. However, on a clean machine, it should be created within installation.

This directory is: C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{9541FED0-327F-4DF0-8B96-EF57EF622F19}\

It contains two files:

- RecordNow.exe

- STAX.291CE843_86A0_4ED1_B843_C9720B19B025

Did you actually get one of the two methods to work. I can only get method 1, but i cant get the actual program to uninstall using this method and with method 2 it tells me invaled key, but i am using the same key that i used to install it normally.

Download the attached MSI. Insert your serial number in this format:

xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxx

Files required: (all from the root of the CD)

1- RNENU.msi (modified as mentioned above)

2- Disk1.CAB (60.3 mb)

3- pconfig.dcf (1.63 kb)

4- px.ini

Batch String:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> [OurCompanyName] --> Registration --> [internalProductName] --> [internalProductName]_SN --> [ProductID]

You replace [ProductID] with your serial.
