Astalavista Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 My microsoft office 2003 cd says it has 590 Megabytes.But when i try to copy the files to my hard drive. it becomes 1 plus gigs.why is this so?
Alanoll Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 the image might have been created with a tool like CDIMAGE.Instead of looking at the disk properties, highlight all the folders and files on the disk, and then check the properties. I bet that will display the 1 gig or so.....The are duplicate files on the disc, that were only written once, but when copied to the harddrive in file form, an individual copy is created for each entry on the disc.
SiMoNsAyS Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 probably you got a 10in1 version of office, try to run the administrative installation from the cd and only about 600mb are copied to the HD
