my2001 Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Hi! When analyzing some of my software installation packages I've come across so called inx-files, e.g. setup.inx in connection with a small-sized setup.exeObviously the installers of those packages don't understand any command line parameters?!?! So what are those inx-files and what can be done with them? Can they be modified using WinInstall LE or InstallShield Admin Studio? I dunno.
Alanoll Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 they're the old Installshield setupscript files I believe. Usually they're compiled so I don't think you can do anything with them.the old setups I thought used -s with either the .iss file or -s by themselves. I haven't encountered any of those installed in a long time.
my2001 Posted June 2, 2004 Author Posted June 2, 2004 Ah, ic. Yes, that's true, there is no way to modify them (i.e. isx). Well, at least I didn't find any.Still that's annoying b/c Dreamweaver 2004 or Ulead Photo Impact are shipped with these isx-files. And that aren't very old apps.
Strat79 Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 .inx : InstallShield Compiled Rules FileHere is a decompiler for them, not sure what you can actually change with it though. http://protools.anticrack.de/files/decompilers/sid.zip
