cris_thomas
I can't get my XP CD Image to Boot.I used CDImage and followed the instructions to create an .ISO Image. I then used Roxio 'Burn Image to CD" feature. When I try to boot I get TRAP 00000001DEBUG TRAP cs:eip=0008:003027a3 ss:esp=0010:00060E9C errcode=0000 flags=00000003 Cy NoZr IntDis Down TrapDis eax=003F400 ebx=00000005 ecx=00000032 edx=00000008 ds=0010 es=0010 edi=0003F000 esi=0032F190 ebp=00060EC0 cro=80000001 fs=0030 gs=0000Any suggestions?- Cris
wyattXP
Use Nero - get the XP image from the Unattended install walk-through then set the nero to no emulation with 4 sectors and point the image to the one you downloaded from the guide
RyanVM
It sounds to me like the ISO was made with incorrect parameters. An easy to make a guaranteed correct ISO is to use the MSFN batch file for WinXP. You can get it over at http://unattended.msfn.org/
cris_thomas
I have used the Batch file from unattended.msfn.org as well as the walk through for Roxio CD Creator (I don't have Nero) from ElderGeeks. Both methods produce the same result, the Debug Trap error I mentioned above.I'm getting tired of making frisbees.- Cris
cris_thomas
Turned out it was a hardware problem.CDs made from both methods, CDImage and the Roxio walk through, both work fine on a different machine. Probably a RAM timing issue on the first box. Thanks for everyones help.- Cris
gosh
Is the trap a blue screen or black and white? From my experience ive only seen 2 causes of traps, which are very rare:1) Hardware error2) NTLDR errorAdmiral ACKBAR might know what a trap is-gosh
cris_thomas
In case someone else finds this thread through a search or has a similar problem....Further troubleshooting found that the CD-ROM drive was bad. Replacing the CD allowed the machine to boot from the orginal CD disk. I had suspected bad RAM but that turned out to be fine.- Cris
