:)

first off thanks to "edomais"

his simple, but effective post fixed

my problem!!!!

I have promise 20276 raid\ata controller

I can get raid to install without f6 via RyanVM

method but not the ata, why do I care, bootup

time reg ide, 109sec, ata 34sec and cable switching...

RyanVM has sent me many drivers to try we finally

gave up and I settled for the raid working. Saw edomais's

post and tried it and WOW it works, and so simple;

In winnt.sit

OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\006_IDE;"

Then

$Oem$\$1\Drivers\006_IDE\TXTSETUP.OEM,your.sys,your.inf,your.cat

no f6, just let her go.....

any way as everone says here,"It worked for me"

and thank you "edomais"

try it and post back here if you want

bonedaddy

EDIT

I forgot to mention I still use RyanVM's method I just add to

his and over write the sys inf and cat files

I have always used sub directories for my seperate controllers and it has always worked very well.

Easier to manage for me cause when a new driver is added its easy to work out which files each controller is using.

I first split it into Vendors (eg HighPoint, Sil, Promise etc) then in those directories I split the controllers (eg HPT37x, HPT372, HPT374 etc)

As long as the top level directory is 006!

LOL, the fun is when you've got like 80 different controllers :rolleyes:. I can only imagine how big your winnt.sif OEMPnPDrivers line is :)

EDIT: But yeah, I've actually been thinking about dividing them up similarly to that lately for my own organization sake as well.

Back to the thread title, so if you copy all the files (including the OEM file) into that directory and point winnt.sif at it, it works in textmode setup with no extra files added to i386 or changes made to txtsetup.sif?
