while windows 10 does have its issues i have never once had any problems with updates on windows 10 ever this whole disable updates or get spied on scaremongering is overused   out in the world today pretty much every company uses telemetry now for almost anything they can possible fit it in and stopping it 100% will never become a reality as there is to much for simply disabling it while i do respect those who make it there goal to minimize it you can never fully stop it as company's will always be one step ahead of you on keeping that from happening

It is not easy to eliminate possible privacy violations (when it is excess is different than a security feature or ensuring the efficiency of a service) manually either in Windows 10, I think even more difficult in Windows 11, especially in a Standard Account.
For a simple check everyone uses a preferred tool.
My favorite (up to a point because I make such changes manually in my Standard Account) is this one:

In my opinion, it is not advisable to make changes at the level of browsers through any tools.

I think this has taken the previous discussion slightly out of context.

Sure, I'll grant you that some folks (not me!) rely heavily on "getting updates" (be it fully automatic or manual) - I see that itself as FEAR-MONGERING, some form of "update or else" side of the same coin!

But it seems to me that the previous discussion was more to do with a fully functioning, fast and efficient Windows 10.  And not "telemetry" in and of itself.

The XP folks probably remember the popularity of this and perhaps even carried it over to their 10/11 via this, but make no mistake, removing "spy" features of our OS-of-choice is something most of us have been doing for DECADES.

this is completely correct and i will continue to deny telemetry and its uses for as long as information hungry company's continue to dominate what your os sends to them without your confirmed consent! and will officially retract my statement saying its not a "telemetry bloater" as it definitely is nomatter how you put it
