UnattendedXP problem...

This is what I did:

I used Gosh's batch to remove Themesupport from XP.

After that I created a iso-image and loaded it into VMWare.

Everything went fine until I tried to open Add/Remove Programs.

Following errormessage appeared:

(this message didn't appear before I removed Themesupport)

Anyone knows what this means?

Someone actually used that batch file. I'm not sure what the error means, try sfc /scannow

SYMPTOMS

After you install Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), and you try to open Add or Remove Programs or Set Programs and Defaults, you may receive the following error message:

Value creation failed " at line 410

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the following file is corrupted or missing:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\Shellstyle.dll

I copied Shellstyle.dll back and now add/remove programs works again!

That's great news! Glad you got it working. I guess The Add/Remove CP needs that dll for its display.
