UCyborg
No idea with which Windows this stopped working, but on Windows XP at least with both Remote NDIS and ADB drivers configured/installed, if you have USB tethering and ADB enabled simultaneously on the smartphone, Windows detects both ADB device and network adapter. But this apparently stopped working with certain Windows version and Windows only sees network adapter if both USB tethering and ADB are enabled. I wonder if there's a trick or registry hack that would get Windows to see both devices. You can still have both USB tethering and ADB on modern Linux.
