I'm planning to try again with windows vista on my 2nd hard drive and want to make sure I do it the way it's supposed to go do in don't end up having a install that likes to break itself (like the last one did) if anyone knows the proper way to do this or anything im not doing it would be much appreciated

what do you mean by "the proper way"? what is the other os you are trying to use and it doesn't work?
I usually go from the oldest to the newest (install vista first then windows 10 for example) and never had issues

what I'm trying to do is install windows vista x86 (not x64) in a 2nd harddrive with windows 10 ltsc on another but it always gives me a nit enought space to store temporary files error during startup

if you remove the hdd which has win 10 does the error go away? i know if you install it this way it won't make a dual boot, but if the installation is successful then you might want to save you personal files and format everything
i remember having the same issue and that was the only way to go
