Doggie Posted April 25, 2004 Share Posted April 25, 2004 you didnt read what i said.. you cant msn messenger logs in and sends your current version data to its server, it checks to see if its up to date, if it finds it isnt, it will ask you to update. if you choose no, msn messenger is more or less pointless to have, as it will continue to prompt to update. Well that's thanks to Google and searching for "disable MSN alerts" Anyway, you can disable that by using a Hex editor and setting the MSN version to something higher, that will make it skip the checking of versions... at least if it's just a matter of differences in builds. Haven't had the chances to check with the latest MSN, but I will once 8.1 is no longer "allowed" to be used by Microsoft. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
