Help setting up High Definition Audio Drivers on Windows 98 SE

Your AUTOEXEC.BAT and SYSTEM.INI looks good, although SMARTDRV /X is more safe.

But HDACFG.INI is not populated, only Busmaster values. This file is written by HDA2.DLL, always in your Windows directory. Only HDA2.DLL is in the System directory!

Please delete ALL instances of HDACFG.INI, reboot and upload this file again. Do NOT edit anything for now.

According to HDACFG.INI your 'CODEC Index=$1', but this is the internal soft-modem.Can you switch it off? The HDA-codec is at 'CODEC Index=$0' according to HDAICOUT.TXT. This will be Realtek HDA-codec ALC883.

During troubleshooting add following line in SYSTEM.INI to

[386Enh]

(.....)

MinTimeSlice=80

Please report, and upload again if anything changes in HDACFG.INI

after several minutes, the boot sound seems great.... the Explorer will be, after more minutes, on memory, but don't show the Start Menu bar and icons :(
the mouse move normally, but the rest seems severely slow :(

Don't know if you have to re-install.

Is everything 'normal' if you comment out the HDA2.DLL line in SYSTEM.INI?

BTW you don't have CONFIG.SYS?

"Is everything 'normal' if you comment out the HDA2.DLL line in SYSTEM.INI?"
seems not.. tomorrow, i will reinstall the Windows.
the config.sys seems empty.. is that normal?

 i can enter normally on Safe Mode (F5)

so i restore:
- "scanreg /restore"... now i can enter on Windows normally...
- i uninstall all Realtek audio drivers\programs;
- i repeat:
"Add to SYSTEM.INI,[Drivers ] "WAVEHDA=HDA2 .DLL" (without quotes)"
now i get Blue Screen.... so i must add these 2:
"If there is sound but system is unstable try in SYSTEM.INI,
[Vcache]
MinFileCache=1024
MaxFileCache=1024"
no Blue Screen, but take several minutes only for get audio... and much more for get the desktop.... the Vcache is right? or i need more options?
have to do with my Graphics drivers: NVIDIA Geforce Go 7300?
from "NVidia Graphics Driver 82.69", because, sometimes, i get Black Screen for seconds and then go back
my system is extremely slow
