Problems with quicklaunch

I am trying to get my quicklaunch bar to include IE, show desktop and defrag but I can't seem to get it working.

What I get is show desktop and IE but nothing else...

Anybody have any sugestions?

You need to copy shortcuts for the programs that you want into the "QuickLaunch" Folder. That registry setting does not add shortcuts, it simply turns on the QuickLaunch Bar. You can add additional shortcuts by copying them into "C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch"

hi,

please keep in mind that u cannot change all Quicklaunch Icons during GUI-Mode Installation as a few of them are created when a new user logs in at the first time.

(These are Internet Explorer and the Media Player icon in quicklaunch)

This is very annoying and i haven't found a solution yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes I know you're right

but ...

i prefer using some rar sfx files instead of using the attrib command for the app and files copied by the "blue setup" in the $oem$\$1\$progs and/or $oem$\$1\$docs

but it's a personal preference

and i think it's sometimes necessary to remind people about the presence of the R/O attributes...

if you mean remove icons you can use a vbscript at the end of the setup (during the first login with autologon activated) it's what i do after using my rarfiles to remove what ever you want where ever you want (desktop,startup menu drive ....)

i know i can do this via a vbscript after login, but it would be nicer if they'd never appear there. If some1 knows which .inf to edit that they'll never appear there, please share ur knowledge with us.
