johann83 Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 You need to copy shortcuts for the programs that you want into the "QuickLaunch" Folder. That registry setting does not add shortcuts, it simply turns on the QuickLaunch Bar. You can add additional shortcuts by copying them into "C:\Documents and Settings\<User Name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch"Hope this helps.Matt
rdalling Posted April 23, 2004 Author Posted April 23, 2004 here's what I'm checking, added a dir for the build to pick it up automatically...$OEM$\$doc\Default User\Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick LaunchI'll let you know...Roger
aknott Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 You can also make a sfx/rar to extract your icons in the Quick Launch folderusing %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch as the target dirI prefer this method ' cause putting the files in the $oem$ folder make them read only 'cause they come form the cd during the blue screen just after the copy of the windows files during start of installation)to activate the quick launch automatically i didn't use it i activate it manually after first boot

killerbee Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 hi,please keep in mind that u cannot change all Quicklaunch Icons during GUI-Mode Installation as a few of them are created when a new user logs in at the first time.(These are Internet Explorer and the Media Player icon in quicklaunch)This is very annoying and i haven't found a solution yet. Any help would be appreciated.hope this helps a bitcyaKiller Bee

killerbee Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 hi,i know i can do this via a vbscript after login, but it would be nicer if they'd never appear there. If some1 knows which .inf to edit that they'll never appear there, please share ur knowledge with us.thx in advancecyaKiller Bee
