Name me 1 good reason why you need a floppy drive?

They're slow. They can't store anything bigger than a small Word document, they lose data whenever you walk past an Industrial Strength Magnet (happens more often than you would think), and CDs only cost 10p a pop. Heck, DVDs are now under £1.

You have a non bootable CDRom, so you will need one then, also, if you use the likes of Partition magic, etc. they make recovery floppies incase you hose up your partition table, allowing you to restore it to the original configuration. There's two.

Don't think for one minute, you don't need a Floppy drive.

Even though most Pc's today don't need them, Long as

they have the ability to boot from the Cd-Rom. :D

But let's say something knocks out the Cd-rom Drive and

you need to Boot the PC Independent of the Hard Drive,

for a Diagnostic routine what then.

The PC world is not ready, just yet, to let go of the Floppy Drive.

But soon they will be gone :)
