How to solve this problem? SATA drivers related (XP x64)

Recommended Posts

Recently built a "new" system, and slipstreamed the appropriate drivers (by Intel, Marvell and Asmedia) via nLite (and did so correctly - trust me), in hope the proper drivers would be used (as opposed to the generic "Microsoft" drivers which have persisted in the past on other XP x64 systems).

Yet this is what happens -- see the below screenshot for an illustration of the problem:

It seems the drivers are indeed installed (of course), it's just that Windows is automatically preferring the ancient 2002 "Microsoft" drivers while ignoring the proper drivers.

How to make Windows actually use the Intel (and Marvell and Asmedia) drivers?

Board is a P9X79-E WS, running in AHCI mode (which seems to work just fine).

Windows is fully updated by the way, and all appropriate and useful chipset drivers are installed.

Using the following "fix" did absolutely nothing: https://msfn.org/board/topic/107504-integration-of-intels-sata-ahci-and-raid-drivers/?do=findComment&comment=1013987 and neither did uninstalling the 2002 drivers or reinstalling the proper drivers.

All right, you see the driver for the hard disk, and it always remains standard. Added drivers were added to the SCSI and RAID controllers section, and judging by the screenshot, they work correctly. And the SCSI label in the drive name always appears when the AHCI or RAID mode is enabled.
