Will deleting icons/shortcuts on desktop help to reduce the mem usage of explorer.exe?

Any other ways to reduce resources in explorer.exe?

and system tray processess usually kill explorer's loading time as well, you might wanna check that out aswell.

Open Task Manager and switch to processes to see what more backround services you might have running... System Tray doesn't show them all!

if u have a slow hdd and not so much ram

cleaning up the icons do help!!!

windows loads all those icons. so if u have lots of things on the desktop its gonna slow it down!

if u're experiencing slowness. defrag, close the startup programs, get rid of some icons.. etc...

upgrading is always a better possiblity.
