Asp Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I've just got a used HP Laserjet 2420. One feature that got me excited is that it has a slot for Compact Flash to be used as persistent storage (fonts, etc). I put one in but it comes up as "uninitialized". The printer can't initialize it, the only way I can find is to use HP's JetAdmin software from the host PC. But the only version I can find on HP's site, or anywhere else, is 10.x, the latest, which requires Windows 7 -- and I'm running XP. Does anyone have an XP version? I think version 7 up to 8.1.

Not including JetAdmin. It tells you "To download a current version of HP Web Jetadmin and for the latest list of supported host systems, go to www.hp.com/go/webjetadmin". I.e., ONLY the latest version, not for WinXP. However, I found how to initialize the card in the Service manual: holding buttons when it boots. But still, it appears I need JetAdmin to load fonts onto it. -- And now Jaclaz posted a link for JetAdmin 7.2 in the related thread: So I think this is solved. Edited March 17, 2017 by Asp
