Windows 2000
Basically, I am going to install Windows 2000 on my computer and I was wondering, which edition is the best for a newer hardware? Are "Advanced Server" and "Datacenter Server" more compatible? - if yes, what's better in the compatibility with newer hardware? (1) - Windows 2000 Professional (2) - Windows 2000 Server (3) - Windows 2000 Advanced Server (4) - Windows 2000 Datacenter Server Any help will be greatly appreciated. Tommy
There's really no difference in compatibility. It's just that the more advanced servers can handle more ram and more physical CPUs, that's about the only real benefit to using them. As far as hardware is concerned, they all use the same exact core so unless you have a need for more than 4GBs of RAM and more than 1-2 CPUs, then go with the server editions, otherwise just stick to professional.
