WinClient5270 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 This post is for those interested in installing the latest version of Sketchup on Vista. I hope someone finds this useful.I recently discovered that Sketchup 2015 and later do not support Windows Vista. However, I found a workaround that is very simple to do, and the program installs and runs perfectly fine on Vista. First of all, you'll need to make sure that your Vista system is up to date, as IE9 is required (according to their website) for installation, as well as Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. The next thing to do is to download and install Orca MSI editor: http://www.technipages.com/downloads/OrcaMSI.zip Then, download an MSI installer of Sketchup 2016 here: https://help.sketchup.com/en/article/115548 Once downloaded, right click on the MSI and choose "Edit with Orca": http://prntscr.com/9cs5wu Once you've done that, a window should pop up. In the left pane of the window, right click on "LaunchCondition" and choose "Drop table": http://prntscr.com/9cs60y You should then get a warning message, asking if you're sure you want to proceed. Choose yes. Then, click the File menu> Save, and then you can close the window.Run the installer, and proceed as normal, and it should install and run fine on Vista!:http://prntscr.com/9cs65ghttp://prntscr.com/9cs68q 2
Alex21799 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Thanks! Now all we need is for this to be done with 3dsmax 2016.
